The Trica Story

Trica began in 1988 in a Quebec garage, where two Caron brothers and a cousin started bending tubular steel into furniture. The cousin left within months. The brothers kept going, and nearly four decades later Trica is one of the reference points for high-end furniture made in Canada.

That metalworking start still shows in the range. Trica is best known for stools and chairs where the frame is the design rather than something hidden under upholstery — steel drawn into a line that has to be right, because nothing covers it. The catalogue has since grown to tables, sofas, beds, buffets and accent pieces, but the same discipline runs through it.

Materials are chosen to last and to be finished honestly, with an eye on environmental impact rather than the cheapest available option. Fabrics and finishes are specified per piece, so a stool or a table can be matched to a room instead of the room accommodating the furniture.

Yves Caron retired in 2017 and Alexandre Paquette became co-shareholder alongside François Caron. The company remains Quebec-based and stands by four founding values it still publishes: the boldness to innovate, the courage to surpass itself, creating well-being, and succeeding together.
